Meet Miss Bikini Fitness Model, Becca Bowen, also known as Country Barbie. She talks about her country upbringing, training, and future plans!

Sam: Thank you for taking part, would you mind sharing a little about your upbringing?
Becca Bowen: Absolutely. I was raised in a small town in South Carolina. I grew up in a typical southern home. Church on Wednesdays and Sundays, supper on the table at 5:00pm and fishing with Grandpa on the weekends! I learned to enjoy the outdoors at a young age and this paved the way for my enthusiasm I have today for hunting and fishing. I also started singing when I was 5 years old and began traveling with a gospel group called the Crusaders. This opened many doors for me and took me places to sing that I never could have even imagined. To Star Search, being cast in the show Ruthless in New York and opening acts for big name artists. I also participated in pageants and won numerous titles as a little girl. My diverse background is how I was given the nickname “Country Barbie.”

Sam: Why did you decide to compete in Miss Bikini Fitness Competition?
Becca Bowen: I am a Personal Trainer and I had always wanted to compete in a fitness pageant. I knew when I decided to do this competition that it would take a lot of dedication and determination. I wanted to give it a 100 percent if I was going to enter. I love a challenge and to me this was quite the challenge to prepare for.

Sam: What was the most challenging aspect of preparing for competition?
Becca Bowen: To me, the most challenging part of preparing for the Miss Bikini US pageant was more mentally challenging. When it comes to a competition sometimes you can start to doubt yourself and that negativity can really affect your results. I knew what I needed to do and I had a plan set before me for my diet, nutrition and workouts. I just had to stay positive and consistent.

On the days I felt like giving up, I just remembered my “why” and this is what pushed me to succeed. My “why” is my two children. I am a single mom and it was especially important for me to show my girls that with hard work and determination you can reach your goal! When they called my name as the winner I looked over to both of them and they were crying tears of joy. That’s what made it all worth it!

Sam: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been told or are willing to share?
Becca Bowen: The best advice that I have ever received was from my Mom and Dad. They told me that anything is possible if you just believe. If you work hard, stay focused and don’t give up then you will see your hard work pay off. My favorite quote that I live by is “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”, by Eleanor Roosevelt.

Sam: What do you have planned next in your career?
Becca Bowen: I am currently working in the studio and will be releasing music in the near future. I am traveling back and forth from South Carolina to Nashville co-writing, performing, and recording country music. I am excited to see what the future holds for me in the music industry!

Sam: To conclude, where can people follow you?
Becca Bowen: You can keep up with my outdoor adventures, Miss Bikini Fitness and the release of my music on Instagram at @becca_bowen_. I believe you will get a good idea of who I am from my page. I live in the moment and enjoy life to the fullest. After all we only have one life to live and I want to make the best of it!
